The atelier

A small studio. High standards.

We treat software the way other crafts treat the things they make: slowly, deliberately, with respect for the people who'll live with the result.

A letter

From the founder.

I started Techno Optics because I wanted a place where engineering and design could share the same air. The studios I'd worked in always treated them as departments with conflicting incentives. I never believed that.

We are a premium software studio. We design and build intelligent digital solutions for founders and operators going after real gaps in the market — the kind of work that needs as much taste as it does throughput. The products on this site are some of the engagements we are most proud of.

If you've found your way here, you're probably someone who notices typography. You may have just realised the cursor blinks in your terminal at the same cadence as the dot on the navigation bar. You're our kind of reader. We'd like to hear what you're working on.

— Founder, Techno Optics

V · Manifesto

What we believe.

01

We make fewer things,

so each one can be considered.

02

We design slowly,

and edit ruthlessly.

03

We engineer for the next decade,

not the next demo.

04

We trust types, telemetry, and tests,

over heroics.

05

We protect attention, privacy, and craft,

as if they were the same thing.

House style

How we ship.

Small teams, fewer handoffs

Every engagement runs with two to four people. The designer is the engineer is the writer.

No design without typing

Components are typed before they are styled. Mockups happen in code, not Figma jail.

A short brief beats a long one

Scope is set in writing, in plain language, in under a page. We come back to it weekly.

Trust is shipped

Privacy, security, and accessibility pages exist on day one of the live site, not month six.

Two-week loops

Real screens by day three. Honest demos every other Friday. No green-bar status updates.

We retain the team

The same people who built it are the ones who tend it for the months that follow.

VII · Engagement

Have something considered to build?

We take on a small number of engagements each quarter. If you're a founder or operator with a real gap to close, and the patience to do it well, we'd like to hear about it.
